Harvest Celebration

You too can be part of the Harvest Celebration. Stone Cliff picks grapes 2 times during the late summer; usually Labor Day and 2 weeks later. (We give you as much notice as possible.) We start the morning off around 7:30 am with coffee and donuts, get instructions from our leader Bob between 7:30 and 8am, then after we are all caffined and sugared up, we start picking at 8. The "pick" only goes until 12 noon on the dot, not a minute later, and we retire to the house for a barbeque lunch with wine, pop, and beer. Swimming is optional. The grapes will be crushed on site as we are working.

A few rules:

  • You must bring at least one partner - more is always better.
  • Bring a clean 5 gallon bucket for each picker if you have them - we have a few extra.
  • Bring clippers if you have them - we have a few extras.
  • Bring gossip to pass while you are picking - we are always looking for something new.
  • Clean feet for the "Lucy Grape Stomp"

You will go home with not only a full belly but a complimentary bottle of wine.

Call ( 563 552-1200) or e-mail in your reservations to nan@stonecliffwinery.com. We need at least 60 - 70 pickers for each pick.
